Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Amazing movie. Or, maybe I should say it was fantastic? I very much enjoyed it.

Kinda surprised about the amount of younger kids though. They had their parents with them so, of course, they had all the right to see it and I’m definitely not complaining in any way. Hope they liked it. I’m just a bit surprised, partly because the movie is in English and although it had Swedish subs, based on my experience with kids in those ages, I’d think they’d have a bit of a problem keeping up with the language. Also, it’s not really written for a younger audience. Not that young, at least. Teenage and up feels more fitting. But, as I said, if they liked it that’s great!

I’m a big Harry Potter-fan and I’ve read all the books – in Swedish, although I bought Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in English so that will be my first by J.K. Rowling to read in the original language – and watched all the movies so I was really looking forward to this one. It did reach my expectations. Another surprise there. It was exciting and funny. The animations was fantastic. I honestly had no idea Johnny Depp would be in it or Colin Farrell for that matter. Eddie Redmayne fitted the role of Newt Scamander perfectly and I think Dan Fogler absolutely deserves some credit, too.

I would love to see even more movies in this universe.

First frost

The crispy season with all it’s cold fluffiness and hot beverages has begun!

I couldn’t resist grabbing my camera and running outside to take some pictures. It’s so beautiful when the frost covers everything and the sun is shining through the misty clouds. One example, as you see above, which I love is when the spiderwebs are covered completely in white.

Stress, stress, stress…

So much to do. So little time to do it.

At least that’s how it feels. I’ve dusted off my books and taken up my studies again at the University. Getting my English degree done. But I’m also working a lot at the moment so there’s this constant struggle of fitting both studies/exams/seminars and actual work into my schedule. Of course I caught a cold – again – too, so I feel pretty exhausted.

Last week was specially stressful because I celebrated my 27th birthday this weekend and so there was a lot of cleaning, baking and cooking that needed to get done before all the guests arrived. Never realized just how much time you actually spend in the kitchen when you cook and bake everything yourself. Lucky me, my cousin and my niece were both such sweethearts and helped me out. I think the party turned out great. Hope the guests thought so, too.

Had an exam in General Grammar the day before yesterday. Fingers crossed I passed it!

School Work

I got a new job!

It’s not a full-time job, but I’m actually getting a lot of hours in so it’s not too different from one. I’m a substitute teacher at a school nearby where I live. Preschool, elementary and middle school plus extracurricular. So it’s a lot of names to learn and some running around between classrooms and working with a lot of different people. But it’s actually quite fun. I like it more and more for every day I get to work. Besides, the paycheck I get at the end of the month is so much sweeter than what I got from my other job.

I’ve got an appointment with a student counselor at the local university on Friday. Want to know if maybe there’s some courses I could take or something regarding this kind of work.

So much bad language! Fucking awesome!

Seriously, I went to the cinemas yesterday evening to finally watch the movie and it was just so rad. I admit that I was a little afraid it would be overrated. There’s been so much talk about it going around. Even if you try you can’t really help but get high expectations and I’m happy to say the whole movie lived up to mine.

As a girl I notice people sometimes try to keep the jokes slightly cleaner and almost tip toes around certain subjects as to avoid offending me. Well, I’m not offended. And I can absolutely do dirty jokes. So the dialogue and the not so discrete sexual puns had me laughing through pretty much the entire movie. Everything was delivered on point.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool is like a match made in Heaven. Or in Hell, depending on how you view it, I guess. Only problem is I will never be able to see him as anything else now. He is Deadpool to me. I’ll just be confused as to when Deadpool became an actor in Hollywood.

Colossus opening his mouth and sounding like a russian caught me off guard.

A big thanks to my dad for making me listen to so much different music while growing up. I love when I actually get all the music references in a movie, no matter what era it’s from.

Also, to all the guys out there. You should learn a little something from Mr. Pool. There’s a big difference between being sexy in a funny way as to just being disgusting.

Danish Easter

IMG_1633 (2)

Spent Easter in Denmark. It’s such a lovely country. The people are kind, there’s so much good food and I the scenery is beautiful. I always love visiting Denmark, even if it’s just over a weekend like this time. It’s just so relaxing.

In the picture you see the big dome in Roskilde. I didn’t go inside this time, but I have done before and it’s a real beauty. The architecture of it is pretty impressive.

There’s also this big outlet street in Roskilde with a bunch of different stores. Like, Hunkemöller, Diesel, Hugo Boss, Puma etc. I bought myself a pair of black skinny jeans.

Visited the Viking museum – if you’re interested in history I recommend checking it out – and, of course, had some ice cream with strawberry guf. You can not go to Denmark without trying guf on your ice cream. It’s amazing. It kind of reminds me a bit of marshmallow fluff.

If you want to visit Denmark and it’s your first time I do not recommend going during Easter though. There’s almost nothing opened during the holiday. So if you want to shop I recommend going a little closer to summer. That way it’ll be warmer, too, and you can hang out on the lovely beaches.
